Andrew Raines is a former professional Australian Rules Football (AFL) player for the Richmond Tigers, Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns football club.
Andrew also represented Australia in the International Rules competition of 2006 and became one of the only players in AFL history to be awarded the ‘Most Professional Player’ at more than one AFL club.
Whilst rewarded for his efforts, Andrew’s time at the top was never easy. As the son of Geoff Raines, an AFL premiership centreman, Andrew was forced to juggle the expectations associated with the bloodline of an AFL great. On top of that, his career was full of major setbacks and career threatening injuries. When the chips were down, Andrew’s strength, resilience and professionalism, saw him step away from the pack and re-invent himself as one of the best taggers in the competition.
Upon AFL player retirement, Andrew completed a business degree and Level 3 AFL Coach certification. The Gold Coast Suns were quick to nab Andrew Raines and his skillset as the head coach of the Gold Coast Suns Talent Academy, where Andrew now coaches, motivates, educates and mentors standout young AFL talent. Andrew’s insight and experience in working with this age demographic day to day, makes him an invaluable asset to any businesses around the country looking to bridge the generational gap on or off the field.
Andrew offers his sevices as a speaker and mentor, specialising in areas such as professionalism, high performance and generational challenges working with the “Millennials”. Tailoring his presentation or approach to suit your business.
